About Me:
My interests and plans for the future

My name is Hannah Kyer and I am currently a senior at Coventry High School.  Throughout my four years of high school, I have been actively involved in a variety of extracurricular activities, along with being focused on academics and being a consistent honors and high honors student.  I have participated in cross country, indoor track and field, and outdoor track and field, have been the president of the CHS Earth Club, and have been involved in tutoring students and doing community service through my church.

Through these past four years, I have truly come to realize, and then work towards, my primary interest and passion, environmental studies.  I have always been interested in environmental issues but two main things have led me to recognize that I would like to make environmental science my major in college and would like to work in some aspect of environmental studies for a future career.  First, is creating the Earth Club at the end of my freshmen year of high school.  The second is taking AP Environmental Science in my junior year.  These two things broadened my understanding of and interest in environmental science and have helped me to undertand what is entailed when working in the field of environmental studies.  This portfolio will illustrate how I have used school assignments and extracurricular activities to furthur my knowledge about the environment.

Although I do not yet know where I will be going to college next year, I do know that I will be working towards a major in environmental studies.  The schools that I am the most interested in are those with stellar and renowned environmental science programs.  Although I do not know what specific field of environmental studies I am the most interested in, I do know that after college, I would like to go into a career focused on environmental issues.
